White Rock - The Spit Surf Guide
White rock in the Waiararpa is an exposed beach and reef break that has quite reliable surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. Works best in offshore winds from the north northwest. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the ideal swell direction is from the south. The beach breaks offer lefts and rights and in addition, both left and right reef breaks add variety. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Rarely crowded here. Watch out for rips and rocks.
