Whatarangi Point and Bombora Surf Guide
Whatarangi Bombora in the Waiararpa is an exposed reef and point break that has quite consistent surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. Offshore winds blow from the north northeast. Tends to receive a mix of groundswells and windswells and the best swell direction is from the south. The beach break provides left and right handers and there is also a left hand point break. Best around mid tide when the tide is rising. Rarely crowded here. Watch out for rocks.
