In the general description of Weligama bay this site writes about reef , but in this bay there is no reef. It has a sandy bottom and from the beach one can walk up to about 100 meters before going head down. It is a very safe area. A perfect place for starters.Samaru Beach House is exactly in the middle of the beach and probably the best place with the best waves.
