Spencer Beach Park in Big Island is a fairly exposed reef break that has fairly consistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds are from the east northeast. Groundswells more frequent than windswells and the optimum swell angle is from the northwest. The reef provides both left and right breaks. Sometimes crowded. Hazards include rocks, rips and sharks.
