4 Mile Beach and Point on the East Coast is an exposed beach reef and point break that has reasonably consistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds are from the west with some shelter here from north winds. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells and the ideal swell angle is from the east. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves and there is a right hand reef break as well. and there is also a left hand point break. Best around low tide. Sometimes crowded. Take care of rips and rocks.
