Evans Head-Airforce Beach Surf Guide
Evans Head-Airforce Beach on the North Coast is an exposed beach break that has reasonably consistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Ideal winds are from the southwest with some shelter here from south winds. Windswells are much more common than groundswells and the best wave direction is from the east northeast. The beach break offers mainly right hand waves. The quality of the surf isn't affected by the tide. Even when there are waves, it's not likley to be crowded. Be warned that sharks have been sighted.
