Boranup Beach in the Margarets River Area is an exposed beach break that has consistent surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. Offshore winds blow from the north northeast. Most of the surf here comes from groundswells and the best swell direction is from the west southwest. Waves at the beach are both lefts and rights. Good surf at all stages of the tide. Relatively few surfers here, even on good days. Beware of rips, sharks and isolation.
