Birling Gap Surf Guide
Birling Gap in South Coast of England is a fairly exposed reef break that has quite consistent surf. Autumn and winter are the best times of year for waves. Offshore winds blow from the northeast and there is no shelter here from cross shore breezes. Still reasonable in light onshore winds Most of the surf comes fis in the form of windswells and the best wave direction is from the southwest. There is no reef break. It's often crowded here. Submerged rocks are a hazard.
