A good day on the west coast

Sunny morning with light offshore winds and excellent surf conditions. Typically about head-high but every 10 minutes there was a set of 5 or 6 bigger waves, say 2 or 3 feet overhead at exposed spots. The only problem was the long period which made for sectioning waves that often broke wide on the reefs and beaches north of here.
